CHALLENGE

Historically, the client had depended on walk-in traffic to their physical brick-and-mortar store for new sales. Online, they needed a new strategy.

After launching their website they were not able to attract new buyers at the rate they hoped. To make matters worse, a Google algorithm change suddenly cut their existing search traffic by 30%.

With competitors gaining fast, they contacted us for help.

RESULTS ACHIEVED

Search engine traffic rose 48% in the first three months. More importantly, traffic continued to grow to an 87% increase in the first year.

After launching the redesigned site, organic traffic rose over 400%.

Free organic search traffic previously made up only 12% of the company’s website traffic.

After 30 months of work with the client, search traffic has doubled. It is now a quarter of all traffic.

‘Non-brand’ traffic grew fast under our leadership. This includes high traffic (and highly-competitive) terms like “engagement rings” and “designer jewelry.”

Non-brand keywords have doubled and now make up 22% of all SEO traffic.

Backlink Campaign

High-quality backlinks were generated at a healthy pace. These send powerful credibility signals that Google and Microsoft Ads (Bing) can’t ignore.

Higher Keyword Rankings Mean More FREE Traffic

We boosted the website’s positioning in Google search results for high competition, high traffic volume ‘non-brand’ keywords.

The equivalent cost to rank highly for these terms via pay per click would be considerable.

Over time, our team is continuing to develop a wider range of keywords and improve the quality, number and conversion rate of the new leads. This means more real revenue and less money wasted every year.

the solution

Using a methodical, data-focused approach, we combined technical, on-page and off-page optimization to systematically build organic search engine traffic while improving overall website performance.

FIXING Website & Crawler Errors

Website technical issues prevented Google and Bing from properly crawling the site and ranking it correctly in related search queries. Missing title tags, duplicate meta descriptions, 404 errors, missing sitemap, broken links, and slow page loading were all factors we corrected.

Optimizing Meta Tags & Keywords

Once errors were corrected and the site was delivering signals properly to Google and Bing, next was keyword research and analysis. We looked at keywords that were driving traffic, opportunities for new traffic and competitive models. Using this analysis, the team swept the website and modified each page’s meta tags to improve search rankings.

Link Building

We identified appropriate websites for generating quality backlinks. This was done in an organic fashion by building a list of targeted properties and reaching out to each individually.

Content Generation

We identified content topics to provide valuable information to site visitors to the website, with a focus on content that boosts search results through optimized keywords and internal links. Topics included different types of colored stones (ruby, emerald, aquamarine, etc.) and various shapes of diamonds (square, princess cut, pear, etc.).

Site Design

Based on the positive results produced and improved search rankings, the client decided to redesign their website with SEO in mind. Working side-by-side with the client’s developers and graphic designers, the new website’s architecture, content and design were built to exacting SEO standards.
